Quinn chuckled as she put her arm around her new bear, "Thank you." She was still keeping an eye out for Wren as they moved through the crowds. The sounds of the carnival were loud in her ears and for a moment, Quinn was content.
Until there was a sound from one of the rides or games they passed, she couldn't focus on anything but the sound of scraping metal and the whirring sounds. She couldn't explain what happened to her, her whole body went tense and she felt like she was back there. Eyes not quite seeing anything and the surging fear that the sounds of metal were getting closer, anticipating a strike. Her hands clutched hard at the bear in her lap as her popcorn tumbled to the ground, she didn't hear her own keening little whimper she released.
