He laughed. "You're my little cactus," he told her before kissing her again. Settling into the seat for the ride, he closed his eyes again, feeling the whoosh of air as they gently rose, crested, and went down. The irony of that wasn't lost on him, and the fact that he'd gone at least five months without was well on its way to making him a prickly beast.
"I know you're not, which is why we're spending today eating funnel cake and cotton candy." He grinned, eyes still closed, and kicked his legs back and forth a bit, just enough to rock their seat the slightest bit. "And I'll win a few enormous stuffed animals for you and Toby."
