Blake put out his cigarette in a nearby ashtray before looking up at Eli. "We weren't together that long. He knew better than to expect me to stick around, or follow him where he was going. But no, it wasn't exactly like that." He shrugged. He wasn't particularly comfortable talking about the way he did things, or analyzing it, particularly when it came to the few cases where he'd stayed with someone beyond a night or two. "I don't do the relationship thing much if I can help it. Preston was an exception to the rule. I didn't sleep with anybody else for a few months there, and that, I've got to say, was an accomplishment on his part."
