Who: Evie and Sol What: They're making a kite... Where: Aubade 501 When: After this Rating: They're making a kite. This will probably end in silliness and deep cleansing breaths so they don't embarrass themselves.
Evangeline Sablier was a very odd girl, she made no claims to the contrary, and rarely tried to hide who she was unless it seemed terribly important that she be seen and not heard. Though in the instances that she should be seen and not heard, she usually preferred to go unseen as well. She had a lot going on inside of her head and her heart, and it seemed to multiply by 100 whenever Solomon was around. Not in a bad way, in a scary way most definitely, and sometimes the way she felt when he was around scared her so much she definitely pulled a disappearing act.
That was why, after the dance, she'd carried a letter around in her pocket for quite a few days. She'd written it, wanted to send it, and then thought better of it. She wondered what the rules were, she agonized over what she was supposed to do now. Magazines said that if he didn't call after three days she should give up. The ladies she worked with at the nursing home said she was being ridiculous and she should call him. She didn't dare ask her Papa what to do, and Luc was gone. She'd sent him a letter of course, but she hadn't heard back yet. It was unlikely that she would for some time. He wasn't an easy guy to find.
It didn't help that Luc was gone for a while. She always had a hard time adjusting when he was doing other things, she didn't like to be left behind and it took her a fair amount of time to adjust to life without Luc. Things were a little darker without Luc, a little scarier, and she had thrown an epic fit the night he left. Of course every time he left it was up to her Papa to pick up the pieces and assure her that nothing would change. She felt terrible about that part of her, the part that still felt 12 years old and scared, that part of her was still a burden to everyone she cared about and she wondered if it would ever go away. She hated that kid, that kid ruined everything she worked for it seemed.
In the end she'd sent the letter, if she didn't hear back, she didn't hear back and she would deal with that as it came. She wouldn't want to court her either if she was completely honest. She was a freaking basketcase. She wouldn't hold it against him, and she would tell her Papa and Luc only good things. She'd even take the blame for it if he decided he didn't want to deal with the brand of crazy Evie carried around with her every moment of her life.
But he'd called. He'd called and he wanted to see her. He wanted to help with her kite, and he wanted to see her. Today. She had gone down to the lobby immediately after hanging up with him, just in case he showed up early. She'd put some lip gloss (aka bubble gum chapstick) on, she'd even fluffed her hair a bit. For now she was standing by the doors talking the doorman's ear off while she waited somewhat patiently for Solomon to show up.
