Evie had enjoyed having Sol over despite the terrible circumstances and the fall out from such a bad event. He'd looked after her, and she'd looked after him. Everyone had come through it okay, and despite what had happened to the building their apartment had been relatively unscathed. Of course now that it was safe to be out and about again, Evie couldn't wait to actually be out and about. She was making phone calls to all of her regular haunts and friends, sending emails, checking up on things and people. She'd already had loads of food delivered to the nursing homes she worked at, and sent pounds and pounds of dog food to the shelters. She could tell by the one lonely dog she'd rescued earlier that homeless pets would be the next wave of trouble after the homeless people were taken care of.
Evie always liked getting to know people, but she'd never really wanted to get to know someone as much as she wanted to get to know Sol. Knowing he was Luc's brother helped that along, and she put her curiosity and ability to trust him so completely off as that same kind of closeness she'd immediately felt when she'd met Luc. There was something different there, something she was afraid to pick at too much for fear it might either go away, or that it might open a flood gate of even more things she didn't understand. So for now she'd try and figure it out organically, she'd spend time with him and see what that all meant. As it stood, she didn't know what it meant but she knew didn't want to wait two days to see him while he cleaned up his apartment.
After winning the discussion with Sol Evie took a quick walk with Tassle, the new dog, slipped into work clothes and was ready to rock and roll. In fact she was so pleased about getting her way that she even let her papa's driver take her over to Bathos. Clad in dark blue coveralls over her regular clothes of jeans and a sweater, with her work gloves tucked into her back pocket and Sol's hat firmly on her head she made her way up the stairs to Sol's apartment. She walked down the hall counting the numbers in her head until she was standing outside 306. She didn't know why she didn't knock right away, or what gave her pause, but she did tuck her hair behind her ears neatly and straighten herself out just a bit before she finally knocked.
