Mika nodded as Thomas spoke, not really understanding everything that was being said to her. It wasn't about the money, she wanted to say. Her family had never had very much of it, and she was fine with that. She didn't really want Alfie's company, but she couldn't say that out loud. She would trade it all in for Alfie to still be alive if she could, but life didn't work like that.
When he turned to look at her, Mika almost had to turn away, feeling that deep aching guilt all over again. "I think so," She nodded, "I didn't know her for that long but Alfie- She was like a grandmother to me." She had never realized it before, but once she said it aloud, she couldn't deny how true it was.
