The morning dawned bright and cheerful, as most mornings were wont to do. The first rays of sun poked through the curtains that hadn't quite been closed all the way last night. Harry had slept with him last night, comfortable for the first time since this nightmare had started. Last night, the news had repeatedly informed them that the city boarders were opened once more. The footage was on a continuous loop, and after the first dozen or so times, Tim recognized one of the women who were among the first to leave. Jane Cooper. The face had stuck with him, after finding her on that blog in order to find out why Daryl had spent the night in his living room. He couldn't say he was sad to see her leave, but he had a feeling it would impact Daryl immensely. They had been roommates, from what he understood.
With a sigh, he slid out of bed, careful not to disturb Harry. Harry. The news had said that Hamartia was completely ruined, and Tim held little hope that Harry's apartment would have been spared. Perhaps, perhaps now it would be acceptable for Harry to move in with him. He dressed quietly, pulling on familiar slacks and a collared shirt, then his comfortable black loafers. It was still Monday, and he needed to touch base with Cyril at the very least. They would need groceries at the apartment, and some actual dog food for Toby would be a good idea. Before he left their bedroom, Tim pulled the key chain he had purchased before New Year's out of his side table. He penned a short note and placed both of those things on Harry's side table and pressed a gentle kiss to the sleeping man's forehead.
Tim walked quietly through his apartment, stopping at the door to the guest bedroom for a moment. He debated leaving Daryl a note, wondering if it would be a good idea or not. She would probably find it unnecessary, but in the case of losing someone we once held dear Tim felt he knew she at least needed to know that someone understood. He walked quickly and quietly down the stairs and found a post-it pad on his desk in the office. He penned another short note, insisting that if Daryl needed anything, she need only ask. He also found the packet for the University of Washington he had gotten in order for Poppy when she had moved in. Now probably wasn't the best time to be springing it on her, but classes started in a week and she needed to know she was going. He wrote a quick note to her and took both things in hand.
Tim first walked back up to the guest room where Daryl and Adam stayed, and pressed the post-it note to the door. It would be enough until he returned home. He walked back down the stairs and stood in front of Poppy's door for a long moment. Would this push her away? Was he doing the right thing? She needed to go to school, to have an education. She could hone her skills there at the very least, and she had said she wanted to learn, didn't she? Resolved to deal with the fall out later, Tim slipped the packet under her door. It was done now.
That taken care of, Tim grabbed a jacket from the coat closet and unbarricaded the door. He glanced around his apartment, and a sinking feeling washed over him. Despite the activity it had seen over the past few days, the apartment would soon feel empty. Daryl, Adam, and Toby would probably be leaving in a day or so, and that alone made Tim frown. He enjoyed having them over, especially since Adam had been drugged for most of it. Regardless, Tim hoped that Harry and Poppy would remain. He had a feeling that if they all left him, he wouldn't be able to stay in the lonely apartment. With that sitting in the back of his mind, he left the apartment, ready to undergo the tasks he had assigned himself with.
