Re: First Floor
"Oh, he doesn't--" Luke spoke without thinking, but luckily he realized what he was about to say and stopped himself before he could complete his sentence. It was still strange to think of Thomas as his dad, but at least he was getting better at trying to correct people when they called him that. "I mean... he won't have to know." Unless it ended up in the papers tomorrow, which he was really hoping wouldn't happen. Surely reporters had better things to write about.
"Confidence. Right." He could hide his discomfort, no problem. Even if he didn't usually feel confident when he was himself, he knew what it felt like when he was out on the streets as Robin. All he had to do was hold onto that and he'd be fine. The gel and manliner earned an eyebrow raise when Jack returned from his brief chat with the guys, although he could handle the former better than the latter. Messing up his hair was one thing, but wearing eyeliner was something else completely. He had limits. Was he really going to go that far?
Apparently he was. Luke stared at himself in the mirror, unable to decide whether he looked cool or just plain stupid. "Uh-huh." He forced himself to look away from his reflection and turned towards Jack. "Right. Let's go." He just had to act confident for a night, and maybe he'd even end up having some fun.
