He nudged her. "Blue looks good on you," he said, smiling a little. A friend. God, when was the last time he'd had one of those? "No. I wouldn't mind." It was said with that same little smile, tone indicating it would be the furthest thing there was from and obligation.
"You have someone in your sights?" The man she'd been with before, obviously, had been yet another well-off guy willing to pay to keep a pretty girl around at all times, and he wondered what had happened to him, though he didn't ask. The past was the past, and if she didn't want to bring it up he wouldn't pry. Plying a new client, though, that could take a while, or not happen at all. "Look sweetheart, if you need a little something to keep yourself afloat, you let me know."
