She laughed warmly, entirely at ease around this person who knew her as intimately as she knew him. It was the way of working girls (and boys), the closeness and camaraderie that only shared sexual experiences could bring. No one could understand them, really, but themselves and each other. It meant that three and four years could melt away like so much nothing. It had to when you'd been bared in such a raw and vulnerable way with someone you'd only just met.
"What are you doing in Seattle?" she asked curiously. "Are you just coming through, or do you mean to stay?"
