Who: Tim and Daryl
What: Lunch and the Spanish Inquisition
Where: Merle Bleu, a French restaurant
When: 1 o'clock today
Warnings: Daryl being nosy
Though Mr. Morgenstern had returned to the country the day before, Daryl hadn't yet spoken to him. They wouldn't meet until Saturday. This gave her time still to determine who he worked with, and more importantly, how he was keeping track of her. She felt absolutely moronic for not thinking of this before. Why else would Mr. Pecker have contacted her so abruptly, and in the method he chose? It explained everything. Now, she just needed to receive confirmation.
It was too cold for her to stand outside, so she waited in the restaurant itself. She'd taken their table - which she had made a reservation for, to be safe - and sat facing the front door, able to see when Mr. Pecker arrived. A waiter had already poured two glasses of water for them, leaving a menu for both her and her still-absent guest. Taking a sip of her water, Daryl watched the doorway carefully, waiting to begin.
