The performance was more than Maura had expected, and she was still smiling when it had finished. She didn't know this K. Calydon but she felt as though she had found a kindred spirit of some sort. It surprised Maura that she hadn't attracted a crowd; her music was beautiful.
Once the violinist had finished, Maura approached her. "Maura Seaborn," she replied in affirmation, nodding and politely holding out her hand toward K. Calydon. "I'm glad I decided to stop by. Your performance was refreshing. Paganini is my favorite composer. It's not every day that I come across someone who can breathe life into his work." The compliment was not only truthful, but very serious as well; Maura didn't toss compliments about lightly, especially not in relation to the violin.
