She thought she heard the blonde woman whisper something under her breath, but she dismissed it--the other woman hardly seemed the type to be whispering anything bad, so it couldn't be of too much consequence.
As she spoke, Rylie's smile brightened. An audition for the opera? She felt a certain measure of shared happiness for this stranger, as well as a bit of awe, creep up in her chest. She was always amazed by people who possessed talent of any kind. "Congratulations," she started, before the woman started talking about the evergreen and her face furrowed into confusion.
She turned towards the evergreen as well, staring at it. It seemed rather...normal. Not a plastic one that might be programmed to talk, and there was no audio-box anywhere nearby. "I guess it would feel that way," she laughed, assuming the woman was either joking or a very benign sort of crazy. "I never really thought evergreens--or plants in general, I suppose--had any conception of 'fancy', but if they did, I'm sure it--she--would feel fancy right now." She grinned at the woman, puzzled but amused.
