"Yes, I do," she said quickly after he said she didn't have to go in. She did have to go in. She'd made enough of a scene already. "I might not know anyone or anything, but I'm your date and you're the center of attention and I have to be there or you're going to look like an idiot." She sighed. "I can't just leave you." The realization that she'd done just that made he frown. "I mean like leave the party leave you. Your lady friends probably think I'm dumb." Hell, even Bly knew them. Ugh.
It was obvious that she was on the verge of exploding. She was trying to push it all down, because she couldn't do that here. She couldn't do it all. She was just going to ignore it until the night was over no matter how hard it was. It was only a few hours and then she'd be back in Kylie's apartment, taking a nice warm shower and pretending like this night hadn't turned out to be extremely awkward and she didn't just fuck up everyone's Thanksgiving like the huge fuck up that she was.
