Excuse me,

Has anyone seen a possible wet and very annoyed cat wandering the Bathos catwalks or alleyways? His name is Jimmy and he has been missing for quite some time in this weather (Do not call him Jimmy. He will not respond. He is only a cat.) He is an orange tabby, and has a collar with his name on it with a small bell... if anyone has seen him please inform me? I am quite worried.

- Christian

You want it caught or just a heads up that there's been a sighting?

Oh, well, if you see him and find an opportunity to catch him I would be very thankful. However, he does get... testy when he is out in the rain and I would not want him to scratch you, so if you are uncomfortable with grabbing him I would understand.

Dude. It's a cat, not a cougar. I appreciate the concern, but I'm pretty sure I can handle it.

...Of course it's a cat. Why would I keep a cougar in my hom- oh, I see your point. Yes, alright, I am sure you can handle it! Thank you very much for your help.

Yeah, sure thing. No problem.

Although I never said I'd help.

Oh. ...Well I suppose you didn't. I am confused, however, why would you question whether I wanted him caught or not if you did not intend on helping?

Call it idle curiosity. Never been bored before?

If we're playing "stupid questions," why tell everybody his name's Jimmy if he won't answer to it?

(Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

[info]ihatecellphones
2011-04-25 08:09 pm UTC (link)
Because his name is on his collar, therefore you would be able to know that it was him if he was found.

And I have been quite bored recently, actually. Perhaps it is the rain.

Then why not just say that? You'd get rid of some confusion that way.

Nah, plenty of things to do when it's raining. I hear board games are good.

Well I had noted that he had a collar with his name on it, I had thought that it was easily connected, perhaps I was incorrect... I usually am.

And I would play a board game but my neighbors dislike them and Jimmy is missing. He quite enjoys Monopoly, however. I always lose...

You play Monopoly. With your cat. And he wins.

This better be some kind of joke, dude.

...You do not understand, he is very good. He buys all the properties he lands on which, in the beginning, seems foolish, but by the end of it he has dozens of hotels and it's impossible to fight back... and if he gets all of the railroads then there is no hope.

I thought that was everybody's strategy. As long as the money holds out, anyway. That and getting people to give you their properties at an insanely low price so you can build.

But. A cat? Seriously. What, did you train him from a kitten or something?

(Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

[info]ihatecellphones
2011-04-26 05:06 am UTC (link)
No, if I trained him then I would know his moves before he made them. He's brilliant, I've been trying to beat him for a year now and nothing has worked... He is much more devious than he sounds.

Learning curve, dude. Teach the basics, they fill in the rest; it's how the process works.

Though I haven't seen the cat myself, my dog did manage to get a tuft of orange fur wedged in his teeth recently. I'm not entirely sure how this happened, though you'll be happy to hear that I couldn't detect any presence of blood on his paws or teeth.

...I am not happy to hear that at all. Does your dog have a specific taste for orange tabby cats? Because if so then I am quite concerned...

I don't allow Toby to snack indiscriminately. It would do terrible things to his arteries.

Well I am just as concerned about my cats health as you are about Toby's arteries, therefore I would be very thankful if you kindly kept his mouth away from Jimmy. I think they would both be better off.

....I don't understand how he would do that seeing as he is only a cat. He probably hasn't the foggiest of what a ninja IS but... I suppose I can hope that he is hiding, safe. ....ninja-like.

There's no such thing as 'only' a cat. They've got that weird stare, like they're looking right into your soul. Besides, cats are infamous for finding impossible hiding spots and appearing when you least expect it.

I'll keep an eye out anyway. And an ear, since bells aren't a common sound around here.

You speak about cats as if they were supernatural beings. Perhaps you should talk to somebody about these delusions that you are having...

And thank you very much! If you find him I would be very grateful.

Their eyes glow in the dark. You can't tell me that's not creepy. Nah, I already tried that and got the all-clear. This is too easy No delusions here.

I'll let you know if I find him.

Well their eyes don't exactly glow, they just reflect oncoming lights, but I can see your point there... however, you might want to see a doctor about the soul part. Just in case...

Thank you! I appreciate your help.

[info]likedillinger

Whatever. Normal eyes don't reflect lights either. Why? You don't think people have souls?

No problem.

[info]ihatecellphones

Normal cat eyes do... and that's quite a personal question, but I suppose that I believe in souls. If everyone was soulless it would be a very sad place, don't you agree?

(Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

[info]likedillinger
2011-04-26 03:09 pm UTC (link)
See, that's why cats aren't normal. Personal? I guess souls could be a private thing in the same way religion is, but I bet I could come up with questions that are way more personal. Yeah, even more sad than it already is.

...Well are you trying to come up with personal questions? I'm afraid I wouldn't have much to tell, I'm pretty boring... but yes, it would be a very sad place, I agree.

However, it isn't perfect now, but I would say that it was sad... there are many terrible things that happen but there are many good things as well. No one seems to want to remember that part.

(Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

[info]likedillinger
2011-04-27 06:56 am UTC (link)
Nah. Just saying I could, that's all. Everyone thinks they're boring. It's a matter of perspective.

It's always easier to focus on the bad, and harder to look past it. But you've got a point.

Hi! I also live in Bathos and I have three kittens! I think I might have seen them wandering around with a new friend, but I am not certain. I will see if your cat wanders in. Do not worry too much! I will also have Fenris go looking. Your cat will be safe again soon!
