Condemnation of violent uprisings, a desire for privacy and calmness for his family and employees.
Honestly at this point they're looking to hoist someone with their own petard. They don't care who they're doing it to, the message needs to be clear that business as usual for hundreds of employees needs to commence.
Public safety is the job of the police, and they are being trusted to handle the current situation. Further, trespassing will NOT be tolerated. The right to free assembly is one thing, assemblies turning violent are quite another. This is not a political uprising against the government, this is not a revolution this is a witch hunt of two men with lives and jobs to do.
At the heart of this, it doesn't matter if he's the Bat, if you're the Bat, if I'm the Bat or if Mr. Figgins the guy who runs the haunted amusement park is the Bat. They want an opinion either way. You can both make statements assuring everyone that you're not at all involved in Mask activities and some may believe you. Those that don't will continue to call you liars, and nothing will have been accomplished.
Erring on the side of caution, it is the opinion of the office of the Chief of Police that the Masks are not a danger to public safety. There is nothing wrong with piggybacking on that, it puts the company in the public position of cooperating with law enforcement, supporting city officials in the city that we do business, and cements an interest in keeping ALL of this city's residents safe.
Sensationalism sells, but it also dies out quickly. The public wants to know that the higher-ups of the world care about what is happening in the streets right now. The majority of people want this to be over and done with so they can go on with their lives.
We have a police chief who has publicly committed to keeping the streets safe for everyone, has publicly stated his support for the Masks. I'm certainly not asking either of you to go so far as that, I am suggesting that you leave the law to the public officials and regardless of your personal feelings, it should be the opinion of your company and Mr. Brandon's that you support tougher security measures, you support law enforcement in what they're doing and will cooperate fully with the ongoing investigations. The emphasis should be on the employees who's lives are being disrupted here, the mudslinging doesn't only effect Mr. Brandon and yourself. It effects the employees, their families, the subsidiaries, the shareholders, countless contractors...Their livelihoods are being threatened by a personal attack on two men. In this economy and job market, this kind of attack on someone will do nothing but hurt from the bottom up.
Questions will continue to come up about the Masks, the only way to avoid them is to NOT take questions once you've made your statement and that is perfectly acceptable people do it all the time. That will be my recommendation for Mr. Brandon, and in an unofficial capacity it is my recommendation to you. However, if that isn't the case and questions do come up, there will be only one right answer as far as the media is concerned.
[...] However, if there is involvement and one or both of you chooses to own up to it, I would recommend you give your respective PR departments a very early heads up.
