Op-Ed: Letter to the Editor The thing that nobody really seems to say about the Bat is that you can't really track his movements reliably. These days it's a lot easier to say 'the Bat did this over there' and 'the Bat did this over here' without actually having anything but heresay. I mean, I've been following signs of this guy for months, and I don't have more than five fuzzy pictures at best. But I'm telling you, other than a few crack sightings (where people are saying his tail strangled them or they had his secret Bat love child) nobody's seen the Bat for at least four weeks. Maybe even two months. He's never been missing that long. There's usually at least one beat-up burglar, or a grateful editorial, or a bastard offering some reward to off him because he did this or that--or even some crime scene hints sent in... but I've got a contact with the cops and no, nothing there either. At this point I'm wondering whether or not we should be checking missing persons. Or the morgue. - Bat Fan 92 |
