If your friend is "unknown," how can you be addressing him or her?

Figuring he's bored and looking for attention, hon. It's not addressed to anyone in particular.

He did this before. There is a pattern. It was one week from today.

No one in particular, or someone that we simply don't know yet?

That is a distinct possibility.

You're definitely not my friend. And figuring is why you're wrong. It's just a fancier version of guessing.

Hadn't volunteered! Yep, figuring/guessing, same difference.

By magic of the publicness!

That is an answer that answers nothing at all. Is this "friend" a member of the public, or a fabrication?

I'm not sure if they're really public about their affairs. They could be a very good fabrication who know how to use a compy.

That makes no sense. There is more than one "friend" in this general public?

If you know where to look! For example, you've TMIed for Tuesday willingly at my request, ergo you and I are friends. So by your own logic, there has to be more than one friend.

So you address a nonspecific "friend," which refers to a large pool of people whose identities remain fluid depending on whether or not they perform simple tasks at your demand?

Yup, pretty much.

My understanding of "friendship" defines two individuals engaged in a mutualistic symbiosis maintained for the purpose of a mutual respect and appreciation of one another's company. I believe that instead of "friends," you are addressing potential servants.

Capturing zombies in their natural habitat and then feeding them nothing in return. We should combine forces.
