MURDER IN AUBURN CEMETERY [Photo of Amelia Rhodes and family.] Amelia Rhodes, a resident of Seattle and mother of one, was found murdered in Auburn Cemetery this week. She leaves behind a husband and a daughter, and her loss is a great one to both the community and her family. What makes this death any different than countless others in our fine city, you ask? The death was declared a suicide and the investigation closed, despite no evidence to corroborate the claim. A notation on the crime scene photo states "gun found in right hand. It is worth noting there are no calluses on the sides of Rhodes’ index, middle, or ring fingers." Rhodes had no history of mental illness, family violence or financial problems. A suicide note was found at her place of employment, but cannot be confirmed as belonging to the victim. The information in the suicide note was non-informative and impersonal, and the question of why the note was not on her person remains unanswered. Sources note that even the medical examiners disagreed on the cause of death in the case. Why would the Auburn Police Department close a case in which the victim had clearly not held the suicide weapon? The facts of the case are clear, dear reader. Gunshot wound to the head at close proximity, with no forensic indication that the weapon was fired by the victim. I don't know about you, Seattle, but where I come from?
