Archie brushed his fingers through her hair. "Something?"
"I know you don't love me Arch, you can't, but..."
"I can't?" Archie watched her hair run through his fingers. "Dors, have you noticed that Rosmerta hardly ever serves you? Unless I'm busy."
"I just thought she didn't like me. I do drink too much."
He shook his head. "She knows I always want to serve you."
She caught his hand. "Tell me"
Archie raised his head and met her eyes. "I like to. I always look forward to seeing you. Rosmerta's always trying to get me to talk to you... about how I feel."
"And how do you feel?"
Archie ducked his head. "I never thought I'd actually be having this conversation with you... Always told 'merta she was mad." He looked at her again. "I have had feelings for you for quite a while, I just assumed you only ever thought of me as a friend."
"Which isn't something I want to lose, but I'll be gone soon. Would you be willing to try a distance thing?"
"I would, if you're sure?"
Dora smiled and nodded.
Archie returned her smile. "So... now what?"
"Honestly? I don't really know, don't want to go too fast."
Archie nodded. "No, me neither." He brushed his fingers through her hair again before tucking a lock behind her ear.
"This was a crappy time for us to figure this out."
Archie chuckled. "Yeah, serious timing issues."
Dora bit back a laugh. "So what are we?"
"About to start a long distance relationship?" Archie asked. "Which, considering wizard travel, not all that long distance.."
"And if I needed to go...say further and quieter for a while? Would you wait?"
Archie nodded and then frowned. "Why, are you planning to?"
"Might have to with work," Dora replied.
"Ahh. Any idea what things you'll be writing about yet?" he asked.
"It's the bloody Quibbler, I could end up on the moon," Dora laughed
"To see if it's made of cheese? Or maybe they think the clangers are real?" Archie chuckled, not thinking about the muggle reference.
"What's a clanger? And actually because I have no idea, maybe."
"Oh, right, sorry. It's a kids' TV programme. Little musical creatures that live on the moon."
"Then yes, they will definitely make me look for those," Dora took another pull on her whiskey and refilled her glass.
Archie chuckled. "Well, I'll definitely be subscribing, so we'll see."
She leaned over, kissing him before she refilled his glass. "Maybe you'll get an exclusive."
Archie smiled into the kiss, returning it softly. "Oh really? What on?"
"Clangers."
Archie laughed and kissed her again.
Dora grinned into the kiss and settled back down, onto his lap.
Archie unconsciously rested his hands at her waist.
Dora leaned into him, her arms moving around his neck.
Archie deepened the kiss, sliding one hand up her back.
"Maybe don't stay on the sofa."
"No? Where should I stay then?"
"With me?" Dora chewed her lip
Archie's gaze flicked to her lips and then back up to her eyes. "Are you sure?"
"Yes," Dora murmured. She knew what she was actually signing up for and that she might not actually see him again, or at least lose what they had when she left.
Archie tucked a lock of hair behind her ear before he leant forward to brush his lips against hers.
