Daniel took a sip of his wine as he listened to Sam speak. Sam had told him a few things about his life, but there was still so much that he didn't know about Sam and his brother and their life of adventure on the road. He didn't know much, but he knew enough to worry about Sam whenever he was away.
"I worry about you when you're on the road, Sam. Promise me you'll always be safe?" He knew it was an impossible promise. No one could make a promise like that. Not even someone with a regular 9-5 job.
He reached across the table to take hold of Sam's hand, brushing his thumb over the back of his fingers.
