Johnny was a great man. Sure, he could be an absolute asshole at times, but then, so could Daniel. Neither of them were perfect by a long shot. But somehow they seemed to work and they were better together than they were apart.
Daniel blushed into the kiss, huffing a little. "Not in front of the kid, John." Not that Deacon was much of a kid anymore. Daniel had missed out on a whole lifetime with him. And yet the kid had grown into a remarkable young man.
"Deac, you've done more than enough. You should go out and enjoy yourself. Grab some money from my wallet and treat yourself," Daniel insisted as he broke away from the lovely kisses to focus on his food.
"And John... I would love it if you came with me. You'll wanna bring your book. It can get pretty boring. Ma usually brings a bunch of magazines. And also fills me in on all the gossip from back home in Jersey. You can fill me in on everything you been doing the past few years."
