Daniel and Johnny were definitely far too stubborn for their own good. Hard-headed and stubborn idiots. If they had just taken a few minutes to calm down and talk things through then they wouldn't have wasted six years of their life apart.
"Johnny," Daniel said, drawing the phone away from his face slightly. "I'm okay. No need to boss the nurses around..." Even so, he offered his free arm to the nurse so she could inject him with more pain relief.
He sighed and rested the phone back against his ear. "I'm sure, Deac. It's gonna take time. But I'm still breathing and I'm still fighting. I gotta get better because my family literally tripled in size overnight. I can't leave Johnny to raise you all," he teased.
