Prompt One - Whatever You Like
OOC: In response to muse_galaxy song lyric 1 and prompt 2. Hsu and bodyguards used with permission of their mun. This is after Hsu beds her, but before he leaves with the Rani.
"You will accompany me to a business dinner tomorrow night." Hsu took a sip of his coffee, without looking up from the newspaper. "Cocktail dress."
"I don't have any cocktail dresses." Cody muttered, while chewing her waffle bite. They were in Paris for business, staying at the Hotel Costes, in the best suites, naturally. While Hsu had been at banker meetings the previous day, she had gone out shopping with Czaba. That didn't go well, to say the least.
"What did you buy? I instructed you to purchase an entire wardrobe suitable for your role." He glanced at her, bending down his paper to carefully examine his student.
Cody shrugged, in that teenaged manner, slumping a bit and staring at her food like it was the most fascinating thing she had ever seen. "The people in the shops wouldn't wait on me."
"They would not wait on you?" Now Andy, Lars and Marcus were looking at her. "Sit up straight."
"They were mean to me." Cody Jean mumbled. "They said I didn't belong there."
"I see." He went back to reading, but she could tell he wasn't very happy. "Go get dressed."
She scurried to do what she was told, not sure exactly what was going on. When she came out of her room, she had on her best jeans, and a pretty, if cheap, top, with a jacket. Her hair was up in a ponytail and she stopped short when she saw Andy, Lars and Marcus in full suit gear, with black suits, headsets and designer shades. Cody always called it their "Secret Service" look, except those guys would never be able to afford these duds.
Hsu walked out of his room, dressed in a custom designed and tailored Brioni suit, not off the runway, oh no. It was one of a kind, costing nearly ten thousand dollars. The handmade French linen shirt cuffs from Eton were fastened by gold Bulgari cufflinks, and he wore Berluti shoes, again, custom made for his feet. Cody Jean didn't know any of those names, yet, but she knew he looked hot, and very cool.
"Get rid of your gum, and stand up straight." Hsu ordered her, as she followed behind him. Cody spit her gum out, grinning when it flew quite a ways.
"I can't believe you did that." Lars muttered under his breath to her, as they swept into the shop. Of course, a fawning manager came over to greet them. Hsu didn't say anything, not at first. It was Andy who told the man that they were there to purchase an entire wardrobe for Mr. Grayson's ward.
The Frenchman sniffed. He actually SNIFFED! He looked down his long, skinny nose to sniff at her, as he looked her over. Cody put her hands on her hips. "You better be having a bad cold..."
Hsu broke the mood, and the chance of violence, by putting his hand on the man's shoulder. "Have you ever seen a woman more beautiful than my ward?"
"Well, oui...I mean...non! No, monsiuer." The man recognized labels, wealth and power, and perhaps sales were slow this close to the end of the fiscal quarter.
"Good. You see, we are going to be spending an obscene amount...a truly offensive amount...of money here, today, provided that my ward is treated with the respect that she deserves and that I require. Do you understand what I am saying?" No smile from Hsu, though Marcus had to turn away to hide a grin at the nervous look on the balding man's face.
"Obscene?"
"Profane." Andy smirked. "What my boss would like is for you to gather up your troops, and really suck up to her. He likes that."
"Oh, oui, you have come to the right store, sir. I'm your man." He began clapping and gathering sales staff, and the whirl of activity began. Cody was seated in a large chair, while boxes of shoes and racks of clothes where brought to HER! They brought her a latte, in a china cup! Hsu and the guys took over the desk, and they made calls, did work, and watched her eat up the fawning attention. Now and then, Hsu would look over and nod at something or shake his head, as if he knew instinctively what would look good on her.
Hours went by, in a blur, as she bought and bought, nothing denied her. The lingerie was silk, the shoes had labels like Jimmy Choo, Yves St. Laurent and Manolo! There were pants, suits, dresses, evening gowns and every kind of accessory that her luxury starved, girlish heart could ask for. What Hsu, and his men, got to enjoy was her honest squees and giggles of joy at every little thing. Her delight was infectous, so much so that even the snootiest salesgirl was smiling. For a little girl who grew up dreaming of a shopping spree at WalMart, this was an unbelievable fantasy. Every now and then, she would catch Hsu's eye, and grin, bouncing in her chair with childish glee. Her bond to him was stronger than ever, and not because of the cost, but because he had done this for her.
Eventually, he had to leave for a meeting, but he left Lars with her, and his credit card, with explicit instructions as to her hair, manicure and other grooming. Packages were trucked to the hotel, and when night came, Hsu walked out of his offices to get into his limo with dark windows. The privacy wall was up, and, draped over the back seat, Cody was nude, save for a pair of kinky ankle strap Chanel shoes and a fabulous silk tie in rich shades of red, gold and purple.
Her hair was highlighted and lightened to the perfect, shimmering hue he loved. It was like silk, falling straight over her bare shoulders. She was plucked, waxed, rubbed, made up and powdered to perfection, absolutely gorgeous. But her smile was still young, still innocently wicked, as she saw him lean in to get inside the car.
"Hi, honey." Cody tried to purr, but it might take a while for her to perfect that.
Hsu didn't smile. His expression was unreadable, though he took in every detail. "Nice tie."
"I got it for you."
He pulled it from around her neck, before leaning over her as the door slammed shut. Before he kissed her, she whispered, "If this limo is a'rockin', don't come a'knockin'".
All the men up front could hear were her peals of laughter, then silence, from the back, as they headed back towards the hotel...slowly.
The next day, Cody noticed that the store where they had been so rude to her was closed. Seems they had a mysterious electrical fire.
