"I don't mind setting it in the trunk. Better safe than sorry, right?" Besides, Marley had already opened it, so she might as well. Olli set the bags of meat in the trunk, triple-checking the bottom for any leakage. The meat was about 80% thawed, which meant it wouldn't be long before Jamison could start cooking it, and it would be unlikely any juices would run before they got to his place. Olli smiled at Monroe in thanks; she had to smile way up since the other woman was a good deal taller than her.
Olli continued let her gratefulness show as she very carefully climbed into the back. Once in though, she snorted at the continued mention of the chief. "Please, that asshole has his fingers in so many pies in this town, I don't know how someone hasn't had enough of it yet. If he wasn't such a huge douche about it it wouldn't be so bad, but everything he says is dripping with smarmy disdain. Ugh sometimes I just wanna-" She cut herself off, shaking her head in frustration.
She pursed her lips, actually a little surprised as Marley's offer and after only a moment's hesitation, nodded. "Yeah why the hell not? I could use the relaxation." She grinned at Marley. "I'll light one less firecracker tonight for each hit I take. Seriously though ladies, thank you so much for the lift. It's a hell of a lot hotter than I expected."
