(we're going to forget the part where i can't read what day of the week it is and try this again, self! *facepalm*)
There wasn't much that was terribly exciting about her new job, except for the part where she took care of scheduling Mr. Wayne's personal engagements, but Donna was not one to complain. So far, no one had offered to make or bring her coffee (which was rather good for office coffee, she had to admit), and there were no alien-looking scams floating about. Sure, sometimes she thought Mr. Wayne could be a little furtive, but he was rich and all, so she forgave him that. He'd given her a job and he paid her well. Her mother would just die if she found out Donna had finally gotten a permanent position.
Well, as permanent as it could be. The second there was a way back home, Donna would take it. Maybe when she went home this time, she'd still be able to remember, and then she and the Doctor could go off through time and space again. Life would be as it should be.
At any rate, that was a thing to be thought of tomorrow, when she actually had to be at the office. Today, she wanted to make a proper meal, and for that she had to venture into the veritable windstorm outside. She made sure her coat and scarf were tightly in place, and found herself wishing she'd had the presence of mind to wear a hat. Her hair would be a mess by the time she got to the grocery store!
No use worrying now. She tucked her hands in her pockets and walked past natives and newcomers on the sidewalk, looking up only when she noticed someone not moving. "Nutter," she said to herself, rolling her eyes. She'd recognize that alien hair anywhere. "Planning on luring flies into your mouth or something?" she asked as she came to stop next to him. "You're more likely to catch cold. Well, if you were human."
