"Thanks," Jacob said, keeping Leah close to him. He was still missing a shirt but at least he had jeans on. Keeping her next to his skin had warmed her some though. He laid her down gently and wondered for a minute if he should climb up on the table and keep his body next to hers. "She is freezing," he said. "She was in a meat locker."
He knew he would be in the way so he pulled up a chair next to the bed and sat. His fingers stroked through her hair and he watched her face, wishing she would talk. She had mumbled things but he knew that she wasn't really with it.
