Who: Anita Blake What: Trying to Keep her promise to Bella (even if she is a day late...) When: 2pm-ish where: Cullinary rating: PG (for now) open: To anyone who happens to be at Cullinary.
Fashion had never been one of Anita's strong suits. It was really more of Jean-Claude's area. When ever she needed to dress up for an event, he'd provide the clothing for her. To someone on the outside it may seem a little demeaning. Anita didn't see it this way. By letting him provide the clothes she avoided the hassle and potential embarrassment of having to chose something out for herself.
It wasn't till she'd woken up that she'd realized she'd missed her lunch date the day before. She also realized that she didn't know what kind of restaurant Cullinary happened to be. She took time to think by taking a shower. While washing her hair she decided to dress semi-formal. It would be easier to show up in a sweater in jeans, it really would. However, she didn't really want to stick out too much. By dressing up but not dressing up to much she might be able to pass no mater what the crowd was like. Right?
When she finally dressed and looked herself in the mirror she liked her reflection. She was passable. She'd found a simple little black dress in the closet. It was nice without look too nice. It was plain but looked nice on her. She'd found a pair of knee high high heeled boots to slip on. Her thick curly black hair was brushed to a shine. She'd even done a little bit of tasteful eye make up and put on some red lipstick. She'd put on the shoulder holster and covered it up with a leather jacket. The jacket seemed a little out of place, but hey, you can't win them all.
Getting out of her jeep she walked up to the restaurant. She'd have to apologize to Bella for not showing up the day before. What made it even worse was she didn't even have a good excuse. It had simply opened her mind. Opening the door and looking around she hoped she hadn't gone to all the effort of dressing up for nothing. She waited politely for someone to attend to her. Anita may not always be Miss Manners, but she had to remind herself this wasn't her territory.
