What: trying to figure this place out
When: Monday September 29th, Noonish
Where: The Burger Joint
Rating: PG
The place where Doug woke up only made him sad. Porkchop reminders were everywhere. And he missed Porkchop more and more everyday. At least Patti was here, that gave him a substantial amount of comfort. He could make it in a strange foreign place with Patti around. Because with Patti around there was always a possibility of something more. Even if she was oblivious to his feelings, there was always hope that one day she could feel the same. And since Patti was there, he decided staying in his room wasn't an option. At first the game plan was to go find Patti, but his own apartment building was so big he knew he wouldn't be able to find her unless she told him where she was. So, he made a quick trip back to his room, picking up his journal and his sketchbook as well as a couple of pencils before heading out to get a bite to eat.
He headed into the burger joint with a hopeful smile on his face. It seemed that somethings, such as the comfort of a warm burger was always within reach, even in as weird of a place as this. As he waited for his order he started sketching the people around him, trying to find a pattern amongst them or even something small that he had in common with him. Because he couldn't understand for the life of him why someone would want to take him. Patti was wonderful. That was easy to see. But what was strange was that his life, well the things he was used to - school, the newspaper, disk golf and even a job, they were all lined up for him. It didn't make any sense.
So he sat there, taking nibbles of his burger, sipping his coke, and sketching those around him, oblivious that someone was watching him.
