"Ah, yes, paper and pencil," Matt said, smiling. "Quite old means of communicating now, almost like the old carrier pigeons now that there's emails, and text messaging." He could hear a bit of something being held back, but what he couldn't be certain of. The pauses in his answers, slight fluctuations in his heart rate, all telling him that there was more to Theo that he was letting on.
"Oh, you can at that," Matt said. "Can even have video conferencing, not that it really helps me. But it does make things easier for the most part. Haven't tried using mine for that, though," he said, pulling out his cell phone. "Tried this, but the thing doesn't seem to recognize any number that's not local."
It was a bit odd, but Matt was getting thefeeling that Theo was from an entirely different world. The way he was talking about some things as if he'd never even heard of them before. Made him curious as to what the half of what he knew that he couldn't use was.
