Draco hadn't lingered either, though had taken some time longer in getting prepared. After all, despite all that had happened, he was a Malfoy, and looking one's best was always important. There were other reasons, as well. One was partially perhaps due to the fact that he'd spent the better part of a year as the personal instrument of the Dark Lord's retribution while he had inhabited Malfoy Manor, and reverting back to his usual practices was somehow reminding him that he was still his own person, free of that control and untold horrors. Horrors that he was likely to be telling as Gabriella had expressed an interest in them, or him.
Oddly, he had found her interesting as well. Perhaps it was due to the fact that she was so different, raised in a completely different society than he had been, and had a sense of innocence about her still. An innocence he didn't know if he'd ever had, and definitely hadn't after being thrust completely into the world of the darker side of magic. Even though she knew nothing about his world or beliefs, he found that he rather enjoyed the time and conversations that he'd had with her, and he didn't have to pretend to be anything, or have certain expectations of himself. He could just be himself and not worry about anything.
So it was that there was a lingering smile on his lips as he made his way out ot the building and over to the tree where he found her waiting. "Didn't keep you waiting too long, did I?" he asked upon arriving.
