Lacey always did suck at first impressions, she thought. She looked at her dad, who was holding out his great coat to her. She slipped her arms into the coat, and shrugged it onto her shoulders. "You know," she said, to him, "I'm so used to borrowing this thing in the Hub or the flat for naps, but I've never actually worn it, I don't think." She looked at herself in the coat. It only dragged a bit, and she only had to roll the sleeves once. "I'm beginning to feel like I'm playing dress-up." She grinned up at the older man.
She turned to Ianto, still with a sheepish grin. "Yeah, sorry, Tad...Ianto? Do you mind if I still call you Tad? Even though you have no idea who I am?" She sounded so uncertain. "Yeah, I'm Lacey. Anyways, I'm sorry. I'm just...where I'm from I've been living with you guys for two years, and just..everything is taking some getting used to."
She waited til their attention was off of them, then dipped her face into the coat, like she was trying to warm up. Really, she just wanted to take in the familiar scent of it. It smelt like Dad, but not as much as the one back home did. He must have just gotten it...didn't dad say something about losing his old one in an explosion that took out the first Hub? This must be the replacement. It was the only one she knew, and even it was unfamiliar. Still, it was enough like her Dad that it provided some comfort.
