Bella really hadn't had time yet to process everything. It had been one thing right after another right after another since she had arrived in this place and honestly she was starting to feel a little over whelmed and just a tad bit lost in it all. She had left Rodolphus in his room, slipping out after he had fallen asleep once more and had taken to wandering the house as she tried to put some sort of order to the chaotic mess that was her head. Several times she had tried to figure out how they had gotten there and if maybe she was being punished. Perhaps this was a new form of torture from her Lord but the longer she was there the more she doubted that idea being true. After all what would she have done that would have caused him to erase two years worth of memories from Rodolphus' mind, let alone the two years that pertained to her? Bella knew she had done nothing wrong though. Orders had been followed and executed to the T and without problems or backlash. She was one of the best Death Eaters there was and everyone knew it. So why was she here then? In a world over run with filthy Muggles and with a lover that didn't remember most of the things about their life.
If she were honest, that bothered her a great deal. And more then she would have liked it to. There hadn't really been time to think on that either and now that she had nothing else to do it pushed itself to the fore front of her mind and past all of the other things. Such as her desire to be home and to be taking part in the raid that been scheduled for that day. Or her need to get back to her duties and the new recruits that had been assigned to her. No the thoughts of her and Rodolphus shoved all of that to the side and invaded her mind forcefully. Even the mere thought of it had her sighing and pinching the bridge of her nose as she continued to wander in and out of rooms, not really taking anything in as she did so.
What the fuck was she supposed to do with this? A new environment she could have handled, no problem. Adjusting wouldn't have been that hard. But this? This had not been a loop she had been looking to be thrown through. After everything she and Rodolphus had gone through, especially on her part seeing as how she had dragged her heels majorly before finally giving up and giving in and agreeing to marry him, why just take it all away and make her start all over again? The logic behind it was non existent and made absolutely no sense to Bella. She didn't want to have to start all over again. To go through everything again and especially with the chance that nothing may come of it here as it did back in her time. That more than anything else bothered her. The possibility that in the end none of it would matter because Rodolphus wouldn't want her. Bella could pretend to be tough and emotionless and a bitch to anyone and everyone but in the end when it came down to it, she was very insecure. It just wasn't something she let get out very often, though Rodolphus knew it. Or at least her version of him knew it.
She sighed in frustration once more as she opened a random door and peaked into it, her curiosity rising as she was greeted with what looked like a library or maybe a study. Leaving the door opened she moved further into the room her gaze taking in the bookshelves and her curiosity grew more. Heading towards it she began scanning the titles, frowning as none of them seemed appealing. Bella didn't even bother hoping that she might come across a Dark Arts text or something similar that might hold her attention long enough to get her to stop thinking about things but she did hope that she might find something the least bit interesting. The second shelf held what she was looking for and instantly she grabbed the book off the shelf. Paradise Lost was one of her father's favourites and he had read it to her several times. Bella knew the book inside and out but that didn't stop her from curling up in a chair and opening it anyway with the intent of reading.
Her intent only lasted as long as it took for her to finish page and move to flip to the next one. The action had the light in the room bouncing off the engagement ring she wore and she paused as she stared down at it for a long while, her thoughts churning once more as the book lay forgotten in her lap.
