“1968” she smiled brightly and then laughed at his next remark. “Nope, Jake was on his best behavior. Actually I don’t think I seen him at all today.” she winked to show she was teasing for Jake wasn’t an asshole, a jerk from time to time maybe, but never an asshole.
“I will ask questions when I get back,” she assured him and then nodded her head when he said he was good. She moved away from the table to the counter to get coffee and something to nibble on.
As she stood at the counter and waited for her order, she played with threads from the rips in her jeans. Leah just was nerves to talk about this for she was taught to not talk about this, plus all the pain memories that came with it.
She came back with coffee and a giant cinnamon roll. Leah sat back down, and took a sip of her drink. “So how about the status? Like age or how she became one?” she said in a low tone.
