Madison stopped walking as she saw him approach. There was the look of uneasiness for a moment, as if she was trying to think of what to say or do when he got closer. It had been days since she last heard from him and he was one of two people she knew around this sad little town. She felt like his company was sorely needed.
She smiled a little, remembering that it was a fresh start and that she didn't have to let him feel as though he broke her heart in any way. She wasn't even sure why he hadn't spoken to her for days, maybe he just got busy and she couldn't blame him. He had his job to do just like she had hers.
'Sam,' she said calmly. 'It's been a while. I tried looking for you, I guess you got busy or something.'
