The book he was reading wasn't really holding his attention, but he continued to do so just for something to do. The vitals of his friend in the pod had been checked at least a dozen times and there was no change. It was good that Kal's condition had not deteriorated but Bruce was still paranoid that they may have been too late or that Kal would return not quite right.
Suddenly, there was a tapping sound, like a finger tapping against a window. Bruce's eyes darted toward the pod and widened briefly. He stood, dropping the book he held and leaving it as he stepped toward the pod. His mouth was open slightly, eyes never wavering away from his friend. However, as quickly as the awe appeared, it was gone and Bruce was mashing the keypad to do a diagnostic on the stasis pod and the man inside.
The voice was painful but one he missed. Having the other Clark here wasn't quite the same even though they spoke in similar tones. A few more buttons of the keypad were pressed and the door of the pod opened. "It's good to see you, old friend."
