The wake of a passing boat rippled under the dock. The rise and fall of the deck slapped the floats against the water. In the distance a loon cried out over the lake.
Dean had one foot propped up against the deck railing, his fishing pole resting his knee. What soft breeze there was teased at the ends of his hair. He could feel the warmth of the sun when it peeked through the clouds.
Twisting a can in one hand, he debated taking a drink. He really wasn't thirsty, but it was a beer. Condensation ran down his fingers as he thought it over. Not that it bothered him. He was far too relaxed to let something like wet fingers annoy him.
Beside him, Castiel sat staring out over the lake. Arms crossed over his chest, he watched the bobbing of the cattails on the far side. The bench they were sitting on trembled as another wave hit the deck.
Dean closed his eyes and leaned his head back. The sun fell gently over his face warming his cheeks. There would be more freckles by tomorrow no doubt.
A stronger breeze kicked up off the water. It rustled the leaves in the trees behind them.
This was their first day off in over a year. Dean had to admit, it was one hell of a nice day to be playing hooky from the apocalypse. He couldn't have picked a better place himself.
Oh wait. He smirked. He had picked the spot.
As if he could read Dean's thoughts, Castiel shifted a little away.
Enjoying the sunshine, Dean relaxed a little further in to the seat cushions. This was surely what heaven felt like.
Something in the water splashed a short distance away. This was followed quickly by the frantic flapping of wings.
Dean opened one eye to peer to his right. When he was certain Cas was still beside him, he relaxed a little more.
"It was a duck, Dean." Voice low, Cas stared back at his human. His eyes were narrowed. "I have no wish to enter the water."
"Just checking." Dean shifted the can to his other hand. Reaching out, he draped an arm around Castiel's shoulders. A tiny smile formed on his lips as he ran his damp fingers over the Angel's collar and neck.
Castiel shivered. His voice was a gravelly rumble when he next spoke. "You will remove your hand now, or I will cut it and every extraneous appendage off your body."
"No, you wouldn't." The grin blossomed in to a full blown smirk. Facing the Angel, Dean opened his eyes enough to see hm. "You liked my extraneous appendage last night."
Glancing down, Cas cocked his head to the side. "It can be reattached."
This caused the man to frown. Looking down at his crotch, he shook his head. "Oh, now you've gone and made it sad." He started to rub the back of Castiel's neck. "Why don't you kiss it and tell it you are sorry?"
Casting a look over to the other's face, Castiel sat there unmoving for several heart beats. Then he looked out over the lake. "We are unobserved?"
"Far as I can tell." Which was true as Dean really wasn't looking around.
"Very well." He leaned over, turning on the bench to make his new position more comfortable.
Dean slouched a little further to give the Angel access. The moment those knowing fingers touched his belt he was half hard. By the time his zipper was tugged down his cock was straining against the front of his tighty-whities.
A moment later his loud gasp of pleasure startled several birds from the trees.
