Cameron was a little, uneasy when Cuddy and Wilson approached her with the idea. It seemed wrong to play with House like this, but as Chase pointed out it was no worse than he had done to them. There were no patients’ lives in the balance and Chase did deserve a little payback for that travesty of a firing. Yes, Chase was a yes man, but he trusted House’s judgment and he had stood up to him on the occasions he felt House had gone to far. He was also a good Doctor. House would never have hired him otherwise, hospital donation or no. It wasn’t Chase’s fault none of the cases in particular had allowed a chance for him to showcase his skills. There was just enough mischief in Cameron for her to enjoy this little scheme.
Chase tried to feel sorry for the interviewees he really did. As he watched them set off the fire alarms though, all he could do was duck into a staff lounge and bend over laughing. Yes he should feel sorry for the woman, but really he knew House and losing a patient was not on the man’s agenda. So instead, Chase remained watching the ‘team’ and waited for the fall out. He’d check on the patient after the ‘children’ were done.
He had to give it to the one doctor, he’d set the girl on fire but he had started her heart, a bit drastic but it was just the sort of stunt that would win House’s attention and perhaps a bit of grudging respect. There was no way those that played it safe were going to get anywhere near the finish line. Chase stopped and frowned thoughts like that were a little to, uncaring for comfort maybe Foreman was right.
Ducking around the corner, Cameron watched Cuddy confront, the replacement canadits, while Wilson came up behind her. “Well?”
“I had him leaning over the ballistae. Are you sure we should be doing this? Humility is one thing, making think he’s losing his faculties’ is another.”
“Please Cameron, I give House another day before he is sure something is going on, and makes Cuddy and Wilson’s lives hell till the fess up.”
She watched as Foreman nodded and Cuddy stepped out in front of House. Really this was becoming fun. In a bizarre fashion it was fun to watch him be the one hopping. Yet, Cameron wondered what would happen, when House realized she and Chase worked here, and connected Wilson to the deception. She shrugged the mild mannered Oncologist knew what he was doing; he’d been House’s friend for years…
