Weekly Promotion Challenge: Lord of The Rings (Novels & Movies)
Welcome to the eleventh Weekly Fandom Promotion Challenge.
For the next seven days, we are hosting a drabble-a-thon where each entry is based around the chosen fandom. You will be given a set of seven daily prompts tailored to that fandom so you can write at least a 100 word drabble. There is no word limit, so by all means, go over if you like. Next Monday, we will start over with a new fandom.
Fandom Name: Lord of The Rings (Novels & Movies)
Fandom Level: General
Pairing: Any.
A Brief Description: Written by Professor Tolkien between 1937 and 1949, the epic fantasy that all fantasy since then must be measured against, Lord of the Rings follows the hobbit Frodo Baggins as he struggles to destroy the weapon that could only be used by the Dark Lord Sauron, who, while it exists, is threatening to spread his rule over all of Middle-Earth. While he travels on through desperate lands with his companions, who dwindle into one, battles are fought, last stands made, and heroic deeds accomplished to slow the tide only he can stop.

Thursday - The plains of Rohan are famous for their horses and their riders. Give us your best Rohan impression. Mood: Horse Play.
Friday - Here's an Ent, there's an Ent, Ent, Ent, Hobbit, not an Ent, Ent, Ent, Sauron! Mood: Cracky!
Saturday - The king has returned, but at what price to the people who have fought for their freedom? Mood: What Price Freedom?
Sunday - With the last of the Elves leaving, the true glory fades to the west. Now is the time of man. Is there any magic left in this world? Mood: Left.
Reward: All participants get this lovely 'This Golden Ring' icon.
Jerry's Final Thought: When it premiered, Lord of the Rings was only for the hippies, nerds, the geeks, the outcasts on the fringes of the norm. This did not change for almost fifty years. With the premier of the movies, an entire generation of fans became indoctrinated to the wonder and splendor that is The Lord of The Rings. Along with the good came the bad, and the Mary Sue. Fandom has embraced this series fully and whole heartedly. Yet, one question still remains:
Could you resist temptation and destroy the ring?
If you have stories about this week's theme, feel free to share with us. All stories should be posted to the asylum, not as a reply to this post. Just think of this post as a notice on a bulletin board.
