Weekly Promotion Challenge: Anne Of Green Gables
Welcome to the fifth Weekly Fandom Promotion Challenge.
For the next seven days, we are hosting a drabble-a-thon where each entry is based around the chosen fandom. You will be given a set of seven daily prompts tailored to that fandom so you can write at least a 100 word drabble. There is no word limit, so by all means, go over if you like. Next Monday, we will start over with a new fandom.
Fandom Name: Anne of Green Gables
Fandom Level: General
Pairing: Any.
A Brief Description: A series of novels by Canadian author L.M. Montgomery about Anne Shirley, an orphan adopted by an elderly pair of siblings, who grows up and has children of her own by the last chronological book in the series, Rilla of Ingleside, set during World War I. Anne has a head full of dreams, keeps getting into scrapes through bad luck and a hot temper, though her intentions are always the best. The books were written as general audience novels but are now seen as girls' novels, as they are rather more sweet than bitter, and concern the growth and adulthood of a loveable young heroine.
Novels: Anne of Green Gables (1908), Anne of Avonlea (1909), Anne of the Island (1915), Anne of Windy Poplars (1936), Anne's House of Dreams (1917), Anne of Ingleside (1939), Rainbow Valley (1919), Rilla of Ingleside (1921)
Links Of Interest: Anne of Green Gables Official Website - While it promotes itself as the official site, I see it is promoting a movie or two. So, not sure, but it has a lot of fun games and such.

Jerry's Final Thought: Through out the last century since the original book was written, people across the world have read and fallen in love with Anne Shirley. While there has been much made of it, not always positive, the effect is undeniable. 'Anne of Green Gables' not only provides people with a relationship to the past, it gives them a sense of commonality that only a book of this quality can share.
In life, more often than not, we find ourselves lost. While we cannot change this fact to our betterment, we can make the best of it. Some times, what we fear may be what is best for us. 'Anne of Green Gables' shows us this can be possible.
Enjoy!
