Josiah sat next to JD as the other watchers worked on the locator spell. He rubbed the boy's back. He hated having to kill Vin, but he was out of control. Josiah wished JD understood.
Chris watched the Watchers from the shadow with a smirk. For an organization with such a observant title, they were pretty blind to the world around them. They were moving about like bees in a hive, quickly gathering the right materials and each of them doing a preassigned task. Then there was Travis, the queen sending out the signals to her drones. He could picture that, Travis the old drag queen holding court over his little princesses and bitterly jaded hags. It wouldn't be long now before he had to follow a group of them, which ones, he had yet to decide.
"They can't kill him." JD whispered. He voice shook with emotion. "I shouldn't be here."
"You are here because you need to be protected, JD. There is no telling what Vin might do in his current state of mind. You heard what he did to Charlotte, and she was the only other person he has been close to." Josiah forced the boy to sit back down.
"He won't hurt me." JD told Josiah as me moved to get up again.
"You don't know that! Now sit down, they are just about to perform the spell." Josiah pushed JD back into his seat and stood over him.
JD frowned, but stayed put.
The doors to the library swung open, as a table was sent flying through. In the next moment, Vin suddenly appeared at the center of the room. Twisting a sword, he lopped off the the head of the nearest Watcher.
"VIN NO!" JD yelled as he stood up.
Chris shifted his position as much has he hated to Vin...no he's just a slayer.
The vampire knew he couldn't face Vin if he thought of his as an individual. That wasn't an individual, but death on a rampage. Chris moved swiftly and Vin's hands as the slayer lifted his sword, yanking backward pulling the slayer backward.
Vin drove his second sword up into the vampire on his back lifted Chris off. Swining the sword, he sent Chris flying into the library office then turned his attention back to the Watchers. "Your people have failed their mandate. You have been judged and sentence cast." Stepping up to the now assembled Watchers, he lifted his swords. "Prepare to die."
Chris hit Vin from behind, sending both of them into the shelves of books.
Vin rolled over and smacked Chris off him. "Stay out of this Vampire!"
"Can't do that, slayer." Chris kicked out with his leg catching Vin in the stomach.
Latching on to Chris' leg, Vin smirked and slung the vampire across the room. "I've already killed one being like that tonight, I can do it again."
Chris stood up. "I'm not easy." Chris said with a slightly smirk. "Just ask Sarah."
"Actually, you weren't very good." Standing, Vin dusted the blood flakes from his nude body. "I've had so much better from people less experienced."
Chris chuckled. Chris moved as a blur, hitting Vin acrossed the library with a flying jump kick.
Vin stood once more, hefting a book shelf over his head. "Where do you little shits think you are going?" He tossed the large shelf at the fleeing Watchers. Pumping a fist, Vin cheered as the two who were in the doorway were crushed under it. "Now, where was I?" Running, he snatched up one of his swords from a pile of books and chased after Chris.
Chris retrieved the other sword and turned, swinging the sword at his persuaror.
"Get him out of here," Josiah yelled at Chris. "If this keeps up, he will kill us all!"
"Josiah you have to stop them." JD told him as Chris led Vin from the library.
Slicing at the vampire's head, Vin crused when he was blocked. Spining about, he tried a second time. "Leading me away won't save them, I will kill them all eventually!"
"even your pet?" Chris as he swung at Vin's middle section.
"He isn't one of them! He never betrayed me!" Vin put a burst of speed and charged into Chris. His impact send the vampire sliding down the hall. Smirking, Vin spun his sword. "You should really have chosen a better location for this." He swung out and caught the support column above them. The force of the swing caused it to collapse and the cieling to began to cave in. "See you in a minute, but first I have some unfinished business to complete." Turning around, Vin ran back to the library.
Chris moved and had Vin by the ankle and pulled Vin off his feet. "Wrong way."
"Sorry, lover, not tonight, you have a headache." Twisting around, Vin slammed the flat of the now blunted sword against Chris' head and knocked the vampire unconscious. "Be back in a jiffy!" Standing up, Vin limped down the hall. At the doorway, he came upon the library. He knocked on the doors and shoved them open. "Here's Vinny!" Movement off to his left caught his eye. Rushing over, he drew back the blunt metal, about to bash the brains out of whoever it was, then froze. Smiling, he reached out and ruffled JD's hair. "Hey, JD, you stay out of the way, I have some slayin to do."
"Vin you can't do this! You can't hurt these people." JD told him.
"These aren't people, JD, they aren't innocent." Slidding a hand down the werewolf's face, he cupped JD's chin. Vin knelt down by JD, and pulled him in to his arms. "You can't see it, but they are not what they claim to be. They have to be stopped, all of them. No one can control the HellMouth, it is evil, you can't control evil, it controls you. I am sorry, JD, but there is no other way." He pulled back and smiled at JD. Whiping the hair from his face, Vin scratched him on the head. "It will work out, you will see." Just as he was about to stand up, Vin's face went slack from pain. "No!"
"Vin!" JD yelled as he looked up to see the vampire pull the sword from Vin's back.
"Can't have him killing everyone." Chris bent down and pulled Vin over his knee.
"I wasn't ready for you." Vin brought up his elbow into Chris' face. When he was let go, he rolled over and grasped his blunt sword. "I'm not ready for you!"
Chris stepped toward Vin.
Vin twirled up from the floor and kicked Chris away from him. "You can't be satisfied with just killing me, can you? I have to finish my mission, they have to be stopped before it is too late!"
"Hate to tell you this pretty boy you are my mission." Chris moved swiftly and grabbed the blade of the sword between his hands. "Seems kinda familiar." Chris yanked the sword from vin's hand and let it fly across the library.
Shaking his head in disgust, Vin lowered it. "I wasn't finished."
"You are now." Chris stepped up to him and grabbed him.
Vin glanced up with teary eyes, smiling at Chris. "I knew your true face before I even saw you."
Chris gave him a puzzled look, but kept his guard up for a trick.
Vin slipped his arms around Chris' waist and tugged him close. He blinked and his black eyes returned blue. "In my dreams, I knew this was coming. I thought it was after I had completed my mission, but now I realize, this is my mission." Tilting his head back, Vin exposed his throat to Chris.
Chris ran a finger down the smooth neck. "Don't want to," Chris whispered.
"Please, Chris, don't make me beg." Vin tightened his embrace.
Chris nodded once, then sunk his teeth into Vin's vuglar, sucking the sweet blood.
Vin gasped, the pain making his eyes water. Tears ran freely down his face as he strained to hold on to Chris. He stroked the vampire's back, his movements slowling with each beat of his sluggish heart. His last coherent thought was to laugh at fate. "Wanna know a secret?"
Chris continued to feed.
"No? Well, I'll tell it to you anyways. You're marked." Giggling from blood loss and dimentia, Vin started to go slack in Chris' arms. "Your own words are the harbinger of your doom. 'The Master will rise and the slayer shall fall'." Laughing until he started to cough, Vin flung his arms once again around Chris and leaned into his ear. "You are the instrument of his resurrection. Through you, he will complete what I started and the streets will run with the blood of all." His laughter burst out in hysterical boutes until he went chillingly quiet. A moment more he slumped down. The moment after that, he stopped breathing.
Chris felt his heart stop beating and withdrew his fangs. He let him fall to the floor. Chris hadn't missed the words Vin had said. The words didn't matter at the moment, the pain of lossing Vin, meaning he had lost Sarah again was all he felt.
JD watched Chris turn and noticed a blood tear slid down the vampire's cheek. The werewolf watched the vampire leave he could almost feel his sollow and knew it mirried his.

Light began to fade into darkness, shadows circling until all that remained was a glowing circle in a dark room. D'Hoffryn watched as the curled figure on the circle breathed slowly. Several of his people watched from the shadows, Aneyanka one among them. He gestured for her to come forward. When she was at his side, he clasped his hands behind him. "Your work is complete with this one. Quite a spectacular job."
"Thank you very much." Aneyanka told him.
"What shall we do with him?" He began circling the figure. "We can't very well keep him here."
"Make him one of us." She suggested.
"I will admit he has potential," he considered her offer then shook it off. "He is still too young, but perhaps one day."
"So you finish him." She committed looking at the curled form.
"What do you mean?"
"Kill him or do you have another plan?" Aneyanka looked at the demon.
"I have another plan." D'Hoffryn waved his hand. The light flared brilliant and then back to incandesant, when it had cleared, Vin was gone. "Let's eat."

Principal Wickes examined the work crews as they replaced the back wall of the library, yet again. Visiblely twitching with each pound of a hammer, he faced Josiah. Spine ramrod straight, he marched over to the much taller librarian. "You!" He stuck one gnarled finger out, pointing at Josiah in accusation. "Do you have any idea how much it costs the school board and tax payers to replace the damage you 'have no earthly idea how it got there' every year?"
"None, though I figure you are going to tell me." JOsiah said crossing his arms.
His fingers curled as his false teeth ground together. Eyes narrowing until they disappeared, Wickes' body shook with tremors of anger. "You.... you.... you...."
"I have a library to get back in order." Josiah told stuttering man.
"One more time, Josiah, and I will have you thrown out of my school, is that clear." Wickes didn't wait for an answer. He stormed out of the library.
Josiah sighed. What else could happen, he wondered. The librarian looked around the library agrain.
"Josiah!" Travis exited the office holding a briefcase. The remaineder of his fellow Watchers, all four of them, stood behind him. He was surprised the damage a bookshelf and a table could do to a human body. Shaking off the morbid thoughts, he walked up to the resident Watcher. "We need to have a final talk before I leave."
Josiah looked at the watcher and nodded.
"There is nothing we can do here now. The Master is freed, his people are making short work of his enemies left in town and soon there will only be us to stand against him. I do not plan on remaining a target for him anylonger. Two nights ago, a slayer in Boston was activated. Her Watcher, a Joscylin Horroks, reported her charge is taking it well and is was willing to take up the mantle. They left yesterday and will be arriving in LA later today. Remain here until this evening, they should arrive by eight. I have made arrangements for a house in town, do not interfer with Joscylin, and brief her on everything. After she has been made aware of the situation, you may do whatever you please." Travis paused, a pained expression his face. "I failed Mr. Tanner by misjudging the true depth of his psychosis and refusing to trust your judgement. Whatever you recommend this new slayer, I have instructed Ms Horroks to take into advisement."
"I see, so I'm to be releave of my duties here. I will infrom Ms Horroks of all that has conspired here. It will be taken care of." Josiah looked Travis in the eyes. "As for Mr. Tanner, he needed guidance that Ms. Richmond couldn't gave him and I wasn't allowed to."
"And if I could go back and change it, I would not. Mr. Tanner was probably unstable before he even arrived. His introduction to our ranks was already too late to do him any good." Taking a deep breath, he handed over the briefcase. "Here are the last of the official documents reguarding Charlotte and Vin. You are named executer in both estates. I am charging you to find out what else that bitch had planned before any other nasty surprises arise. Other than that, if you wish to maintain your Watcher duties, an agreement can be reached."
"It will be taken care of." Josiah took the briefcase. "I will inform you of anything I find out."
Travis scowled. "There is one final item of business."
"There is more." Josiah said getting annoyed with Travis. He wasn't in the mood to deal with this today.
"Yes, there is more," Travis snitted right back at the man. "The body of Vin Tanner is missing." The sound of a book falling behind him made all six Watchers turn. He scowled at the dark haired boy in front of them. "You there, careful how you handle those tomes. One slip up and the entire building could come down around us." Turning back to Josiah, Travis shook his head. "Really, you should not allow your children handle such priceless tomes."
Josiah told himself that the ass chewing he would get for telling Travis to shove it, wasn't worth it. "I will look into the disappearance."
"Make sure you do." Travis sent a warning glare at the boy as he slipped from the library. "We will be leaving now. Consider this the last time our paths will cross. If we meet again, I make no promises." With a snap of his fingers, the Watchers followed him out of the library.
Josiah rolled his eyes. He hoped Travis was right that they're paths wouldn't cross, but he had his doubts the way things were going.
Snapping a book shut, Buck sidled up to Josiah. In a nasel tone, he mock sternly spoke. "If we meet again, I make no promises. Stick it in and break it off, wanker!" Giving a one finger salute at the doors, he looked at Josiah. "Glad those wet blankets are finally gone. I am surprised you ever associated with them."
Josiah sighed. "I did and still do Buck." Josiah turned to the half demon.
"Did you see, JD? He looked half crazed when that bastard yelled at him. From what little we have seen of him these past two days, I am not liking what Vin's death has done to him one bit." Buck cracked his knuckles. "I'd like to get my hands on that bastard, Travis, and beat the livin shit out of him."
"calm down. I worried about him to. I'll check him in abit." Josiah didn't like Travis either.
"I will once Travis has an 'accident'." He quoted the air with his fingers.
Josiah put a hand on Buck's shoulder. "this isn't easy on any of us."
Switching gears, Buck's face droopped. "How did you do it? Losing Sarah must have nearly killed you. You've outlived two of your slayers, how do you do it?"
"It's like out living your own children. It's very hard and I don't really know how I do it."
"Then why do you continue?"
"I guess it has to do with it's all I know." Josiah looked away from Buck.
"Okay."

Here We Go
Josiah flipped through the stack of papers, sighing at the futility. All these papers were spells and designs copied from his books in Charlotte's hand. Apparently she had been more than making a catalog to the refrences in his book. Yet another reason he felt like a complete ass reguarding the past four weeks since the entire thing began. Had he been at top of the line and battle ready instead of wallowing in self misery, he would have realized her actions. It had taken what he had come to understand was probably an act of the Powers to set him back on the path.
Buck picked up a book and flipped through it. He wondered if he could get Josiah ot let him go.
Setting the last of the current stack back in the original foulder, Josiah closed and set it aside. "That makes twelve of my books she has made a loose leaf copy of. At the current rate I may have an entire library just waiting to be bound."
"Why do you think she did it?"
"Did what?"
"Copy the books, use her magic hte way she did any of it.?" The half demon looked at his mentor.
Josiah pulled a stack of stapled pappers from the box and set them on the table in front of him. "Why does anyone try for power? That you can figure out for yourself."
"Then why don't we do it too?"
"Is there a point to your questions aside from trying to get me to state the obvious?"
"Reckon not. I just have never seen the prepose."
"Some people believe they can control events if they can attain great power. What they all fail to realize is that time and change always are inevitible." Josiah scanned the papers and tossed them back in the box. "Half graded reports."
"I don't have to worry about those." Buck sighed. "Is there something I should be looking for?"
"Anything that looks important or foreign." Pushing the boxes away from him, Josiah moved across the room to large a stack and picked the lid off the top box. Rummaging through it, he grabbed binder from inside.
Buck looked in the drawers of her dresser, looking ot see what was in it. Buck opened a box and looked in it, it was full of papers. "I think this is more class reports."
"Really? I had thought with all the dark mystics and demonic conjurings she was involved in that the one box was the extent of her school work." Josiah thumbed the binder open and scanned the pages. "Another of my books."
"Well this one looks like student papers." Buck said as he flipped through the top folder.
"Switch to another box then." Picking the last of the papers, he dug back in the box.
The half demon picked up the folder and sat it down. He reached in the box and pulled out the leather bound book. "This looks like the watcher journals."
Adjusting his glasses, Josiah looked up at him. "What was that?"
Buck held the book up for the watcher to see.
"That looks like a Watcher's Journel. You should probably take a look, it might contain relevant information." Josiah scowled. "Then again, it might not. Mrs. Richmond was not the most dedicated of Watchers."
The half demon nodded and started to flip pages. "It seems to be a date book of sorts."
"Good, perhaps we can finally make some headway into the mess that was her existance. Check it over, won't you? There might not be anything of value, but it couldn't hurt." Pausing, Josiah looked up at Buck. "Unless she put in a blocking spell. Hold your right hand over the book, palm down, and say 'DĂșnfaimid'. Judging from her prefered spells, it should unlock any spells."
Buck looked at the watcher then put his hand over the book, palm down. "Dunfaimid." Buck opened the book again.
Josiah sighed, muttering "Bloody Americans" under his breath.
Buck raised an eyebrow. "Could say the same thing about the Brits too."
"Hardly, your people are so uncouthe, I am bloody surprised you haven't wiped yourselves out. Your pronuciation of the password leaves much to be desired. One can not simply mumble one's way through a spell. You have to be precise and concise in your enunciation." He slipped the binder back in the box and pulled out a second.
"You could do this and I'll go do something I actually like.
"Oh for...." Slamming the binder down, Josiah whirled on the younger man. "Part of being a Watcher is that boring paper work. If everyone shared your opinion and never wrote anything down, we would be all thrice damned."
"Damn, what is your problem?" the half demon asked.
"Take your job more seriously or you will cost someone their life." With that, Josiah went back to his stacks in silence.
Shaking his head, Buck started looking at through the book.
JD entered the Library quietly. Tensely, he looked around at the large stacks of boxes and papers covering every surface and much of the floor. Slipping through them, he passed by both men unnoticed and into the office. He came out with a thick tome and rushed passed them when he saw Buck looking up.
"What you doing, JD?" Buck called to the kid.
"Nothing." JD rushed out the library doors again, picking up speed to get away.
"What's with him?" Buck pointed to the escaping boy.
Joisah waved a dismissive hand, not daning to speak.
Buck shrugged it off and looked back at the book. He turned the pages, then stopped. "I think I might have found something."
This made Josiah look up from his work. "Oh? What did you find?" Moving over to the other man, he put down his book.
"What about helping Paulo sacifing Inez to a demon."
"What?"
Buck raised an eyebrow. "I didn't studder." He turned the book so Josiah could see what it said.
Josiah mumbled as he read the passage to himself. "That bitch is lucky she is already beyond my reach." Grabbing the book, he picked it up and started for the office. "I am going to call Than and have him meet you at the Old Grove cemetary on the other side of town. Take a sword with you, the demon is a large snake, you must cut its head off to kill it."
"A big snake," Buck said slowly, "Than and me. Where is our army?"
"I would send the slayer all by herself, two men should be all that is needed to stop it. It isn't much bigger than a large anaconda." Picking up the phone, he dialed the number. "Without the proper rituals, the demon's powers can not be envoked. Charlotte was going to perform that part of the ritual and kept its details purposely from Paulo so he wouldn't succeed without her."
"Alright. Kill big fucking snake. I've got it." Buck grabbed a sword, then a second one for Than. "I'll see him there." He headed out.
"Yes, Than, yes. Ritual, demon snake. Old Grove Cemetary. The place with the, as you put, 'big assed angel'. Paulo is performing a ritual sacrifice of Inez. Yes, our Inez. Please hurry, Buck will meet you there. Good bye." He put the phone down and picked up the journal. Adjusting his glasses he began whispering in Sumarian. What Buck didn't know wouldn't get Josiah killed.

Here We Go
Stroking a white tipped, red painted finger nail down the side of the Master's face, Druscilla tilted her head to the side. She began to smile and pursed her lips. "Who's a very naughty great grand daddy?"
The master moved his hand toward her.
Grabbing it, she forced it down back to his side. "No, my pet, don't try to move. You must drink all your blood so you can grow up big and strong."
He rolled his eyes wanting to speak, but not being able to as going through the barrier had drained him of all of his strength.
Leaning in close, she began to make a shushing sound, holding a finger to her lips. "I've got a secret."
He lifted his hand again, trying to touch her cheek.
Druscilla smacked him across the knuckles. Pushing his arm back down, she cracked his arm. "I said don't move."
The Master moaned in pain. He wanted to get up and continue, but found he didn't have the strength. He raged inwardly, but couldn't get it out.
Her fingers traced over his scalp, swirling circles in her musings. Druscilla looked up and away in thought. "To sleep per chance to dream. And such beautiful dreams I have been dreaming." She began hum beautiful dreamer under her breath. Snaping out of it, her fingers dug into his skin and she smiled at him brilliantly. "The puppets have been cutting the strings and dancing around freely at midnight."
The Master was totally confused at her words. She didn't make sence at the good times, but now it was even worse.
Druscilla's index and middle finger began walking up his scalp. "Two by two they march, up into the flying Arc, they flee from the fear. They leave behind their fallen king and his slayne knight. But King Aurthor does not sleep on Avalon, nor his Lancelot with the angels."
The minions watched Druscilla as she talked, none would go near her or the Master.
"A shadow fell over the land, the people, they cried from their terrors being reborn!" With a quick gasp, she hid his eyes behind her hand. "'Do not look', they shouted, 'for it can only bring you evils.'"
The minions nearest Druscilla stepped backwards for they feared her. They thought she was crazy.
Suddenly sitting up, she whirled on the vampires inside the cave. Druscilla began slinking her way towards the largest crowd of them, a finger to her lips. "Einie menie minie mo, catch a kitten by its toe." Grabbing the nearest one, she snapped its neck and tossed it aside. "Bad little kittens, you've no mittens!"
The other vampires pushed against the ones behind them, trying to get away from the crazy vampire.
Giggling, she spun on her heel and stalked back over to the Master. Leaning down, she looked at him with a pout. "They gone and distracted me and made me forget my place."
The Master wished she would make sense and get him up from here.
"Lights, I see lots of lights, like little fireflies. The world is going to be covered in them. All those people holding a flame just for you." She gave a high pitched twitter, her fingers twitching in excitement. "I can see it so clearly. They are going to gather, all coming here for you. When they do, these sparks will combine and burn the world with their glory."
That part sounded good if nothing else. He tried to move again.
Without breaking from her manic grinning, she slapped his hand again.

Here We Go
Buck entered the cementery and looked quickly around. He saw a large Angel monument, then he ran to where he heard noice coming from. He saw Inez tied to a sarcophagus, the half demon moved to cut her free as he got to her.
Than came up and started to cut on the other side.
Inez jerked her hand from the binding, biting the knot and pulling it from her arm. Spitting it out, she jerked her other wrist from Buck's hold. "Let me at the bastard! I'm going to cut his dick off and feed it to him!"
"Not now you aren't." Buck housted her over his shoulder and headed for the front of the cementery.
Than held his axe close, following after them. Something behind him made him pause. "Did you guys hear something?"
"No, lets get out of here. I don't want to have anything to do with this creature." Buck tightened his grip on the struggling Inez.
Knowing it was a mistake, Than glanced over his shoulder. "Oh shit." Putting on the speed, his knuckles turned dark around the axe handle. "Shit, oh shit, oh shit!"
Inez looked up and screamed at the large snake reached down and grabbed Paulo and lifted up the young man. The snake flipped it's head up and the former jock slid down it's throat like sqaghetti.
"I told you, oh shit!" Than out paced Buck for the entrance, swining the axe like a baton.
"He got what he deserved." Buck told the thug.
"Duck!" Than hit the ground, his feet sliding out in front of him. Flying over his head head, a molotov cocktail spun in an arc, crashing in to the snake. He bent backwards to watch the snake as it screamed. "Looks like that thing can't handle its alcohol."
Buck slid to a stop and looked from the retreating snake to see who throw the concoction.
Strolling along with a large plastic container in one hand and a dagger in the other, the black haired woman walked passed them. Whistling, she headed for the altar, watching the snake demon's head disappear back in its hole. She continued her tune while opening the container and emptying the liquid contents down the hole. When it was empty, she dropped it down the hole.
Buck looked questionly at Than as he put Inez down.
Checking her pockets, Faith felt up her vest. She found nothing there, so she reached in to the leg pocket on the cargo pants. Finding a packet, she pulled it out and flipped open the lid. Tapping out a cigarette, she put it between her lips and fished around for a lighter. "Any of you got a light?"
Than and Buck looked at each and shook their heads no.
"That's cool, I found mine." Pulling out the lighter, she flicked the spool and lit the cigarette. Taking a puff, she pulled it from her lips and glared at it. "I really should quit. They say these things can kill you." With a roll over her eyes, she dropped it down the hole and stepped back.
Buck stepped back as flames shot out of the hole.
Waving her hand through the air, Faith coughed. "I guess they weren't kidding."
Than pulled out a bag of mashmallows. "I knew I brought these for a reason."
"Cool." Taking one from Than, Faith stuck it on her dagger and held it over the fire. Pulling back the toasty confection, she licked it slowly from the knife. After she had finished, she glanced at the guys. "I'm Faith, the new slayer, and you three must be the side kicks."
"I'm not side kick." Inez told her with a toss of her ponytail and she turned to leave.
"Whatever. I'm out. Check ya later." Tightening the vest lacings, Faith stalked off.
Than looked at Buck, then at the retreating figures.
"Don't look at me, I'm not a woman, they confuse me too." Switching views from one girl's ass to the next, Buck let out a low whistle. The next moment he was laid low by a kick to the face.
Standing over Buck's out cold form, Faith nudged his legs apart and cocked her head. "Nice." She spoke to Than while bending down. "Grab his head, I'll grab his other head."
Than looked at her stunned.

Here We Go
Josiah fiddled with the papers on the book return desk. There was just something unpleasant about the fact there was yet another person here who had userped his authority. The fact that it was an old aquaintence whom he had known in the biblical sense was not making it any easier. Each time he looked up, she would be there, meeting his gaze with that blasted knowing look. She wouldn't do anything overt, not even raising an eye brow. But there was just something unnerving about her.
Casey moved her wheelchair over to the book return. "Josiah, is something wrong?"
"Hmmm?" Josiah glanced over at his charge with surprise. He had forgotten she was here. "Oh, no, nothing is the matter. I am just a little preoccupied in thought. We should know very soon how the battle went."
Casey nodded, then turned her wheel chair when the doors open. She gasped when she saw them carry Buck in.
"Yo, J, we brought you back a gift. I don't mind its appearance but it ways a ton." Faith hauled Buck in the room and dropped him on the meeting table. After dusting off her hands, she put them on her hips and smiled at the assembled people. "Horry, how they hanging?"
Casey moved her chair over to where Buck was laying. "What happened to him?" She looked from Buck to Than.
Standing from the head of the table, Joscylin Horroks pushed the unconscious man from the table. "Hello to you too, Faith. I assume your mission was a complete success?"
Casey looked at her shocked.
Than managed to keep Buck from hitting the floor too hard.
Josiah walked over and looked at Buck. "What happened, Than?"
Faith shrugged, playing with the ties on her vest. "These two were running like they were a couple hens and the Colonel was after them with a batter of original recipe. I lit up a perfectly good bottle of JD and tossed it to keep that damn snake from following. Things got a little too hot for it, so I added fuel to the fire, saved the heroine, and had a marshmallow roast." She bumped fists with the grinning Than. "Cool planning, by the way!"
Than looked at Josiah. "That's way it happened, boss." Then he looked down at Buck and slapped his face lightly.
"What happened to Buck?" Josiah asked, confused that what had happened to his trainee hadn't been mentioned.
"Oh, that perv?" Inez dropped her hands to her sides, and sent a glare towards Buck. "He thinks us walking away is a free show. He learned there is always a price. Ain't that right, pendejo?" Turning on heel, she stalked towards the exit. "Faith, thanks for the save. I'll be around."
"I see." Raising her eyebrows, Joscylin closed her eyes in exhasperation. "Faith, you know the rules about hitting the innocents. No television for a week." Hearing her charge about to protest, she held up a hand. "Please, I could have made it three. But considering your actions, I have commuted your sentence."
Buck blinked open his eyes, staring at the cieling from his place on the floor. He dragged a hand over is face. "Anyone get the discription of that mule? It's got one hell of a kick."
Than snickered at his friend. "Nope."
Josiah sighed. "Buck, get up and go to my office." Josiah pointed toward the aforementioned room.
Casey shook her head, how could he be so...Like a man, Duh, he is a man that's how she thought.
Faith took a seat from the table, placed her feet in it and sat down on top of the table. Pulling out a small dagger, she began to fiddle with it. "Now that we got that snakey business out of the way, what's next on the agenda? Got any more bad guys dead before dawn?"
"That's all the hunting for tonight as there is school tomorrow." Josiah informed the gathered group.
"Oh, come on, J, it's only eight thirty." Faith lowered her dagger. When her plea made no impact on the man, she turned to the female watcher. "Horry? What say you, girl?"
"You heard Josiah and I believe there are other things that you need to know." Joscylin Horroks told her slayer.
"Sounds good to me. That snake really had me beat." Buck rubbed at the back of his head. The movement made his face hurt and he switched to rubbing it. "Why do I think it wasn't the snake that beat me?"
Than covered his mouth as he smirked.
Blowing out an impatient breath, Joscylin narrowed her eyes at the assembled group. "As much as your antics would amuse a first grader, there are more important matters to which we must attend. For starters, it is best that we go over the command structure as it will be from here on out. From now on, I am the senior Watcher. However, you will refer all inquiries to me and Mr. Sanchez jointly. There will be no going behind our backs, if we find out you have, there will be hell to pay."
"Meaning?" Than asked looking the woman.
Frowning, Josiah came to stand beside his fellow watcher. "Meaning, that being here is a privilage, not a right. You have to obey the rules or we can't depend on you. Any one we can't depend on is, well you understand. Don't try and play us against each other, when one says no, don't go to the other."
"So you are like our parents." Than looked around the group at the other teenagers. He looked back at the two watchers. "I don't need parents, haven't for years."
"Then think of us as your bosses. You do what we tell you, you get a reward for being obediant." At his glare, she smiled brilliantly. Shifting her focus from Than to Faith, she lost all good humor. "Faith, dear, please refrain from hitting your fellows. They are on the same side and it tends to leave a bad impression." Buck's snicker drew her attention in a laser shot. "As for you, you perverted letch, keep all hands, comments, and eyes to yourself. If I hear of one more complaint from the girls about you I will personally demonstrait the neutering skills I developed in Wales on my Uncle's sheep farm."
Buck gulped and covered himself, trying to hide for the woman and her threat.
Joscylin turned to Josiah in question. Blowing her dark hair off her forehead, she did a mental tally. "I have the feeling we are missing soneone. Is there someone mentioned in your reports that is not present tonight?"
Josiah glanced around the room, though he knew who was missing had been since Vin had died. The older watcher sighed. "JD isn't here."
"JD," she said absently. Suddenly it clicked. "Oh yes, five-six, black-brown hair, dark blue-brown eyes. Lycanthrope, Canis Sapien. He was close to the previous slayer?"
"That's him alright." Than told her. "Hasn't been around much. Has anyone seen him?"
The group looked amongst themselves, each remaining silent. Feeling it was her duty, Casey spoke up. "I haven't seen him in the past two weeks. Not since Vin went psycho."
"I saw him the day Travis left. I think Travis scared him." Josiah mentioned thoughtfully.
"JD." Faith frowned in confusion. "Does he go to school here?"
"Sure he does, been here for awhile." Casey told her, moving wheelchair. "He was in LA before here."
"'s cool." Regaining her composure, Faith smiled at the her. "You and he somethin or can a girl get some action?"
"We're together." Casey told her straight out.
"All right. Just makin sure." Throwing up her hands, Faith smiled and laid back on the table. "So, is that all boss lady and man?"
"That's all, but to bed early as we have a long day of training tomorrow." The female watcher told the group.
"Fine with me." Than growled under his breath as he walked out with Rafael.
Casey waved then headed out of the room.
Buck backed out watching the woman watcher, prepared to keep his family jewels safe.
Faith smiled at him, gave him a wink as the doors closed behind him. When she was the last one left with the Watchers, she sat up and put her feet on the floor. "I'm out. Think I'll swing by the local cemetary on the way to the house, Horry. Don't wait up."
"Straight home. young lady."
"Yeah, yeah. See ya later." Faith let the door swing shut behind her.

Here We Go
"Oh! Over there is the spot where Marcy Ludz exploded in a shower of fireworks. Everyone was glad about that day, she was very, very mean." Casey realized what she said and her eyes went wide. "Not that it was a good thing, I mean technically it made our lives that much more bareable, but people dying, that's bad!" Turning back to her chair, she pushed the joy stick to move forward. The scoobies had been ordered to show Faith around and make sure she stuck around to finish at least second period. Joscylin said anything past second was tempting fate.
Faith nodded and looked around the building. So this was what happened at the hellmouth, she thought.
Rafael, holding his and Inez's books, followed along beside the witch. "Down the hall is the class room where Mrs. Lazanbee tried to eat a specimen toad. Turns out she was infested with a snake demon's soul. We get a lot of snake demons around here."
Snakes do seem to be poplar here." Faith looked at Inez as she had saved her the previous night from a snake demon.
Than shook his head in digust. "Man, what the hell have I gotten myself in to?"
"A lot of trouble if you don't watch it." Casey told him as she moved her wheelchair down the hall.
About to laugh, Rafael caught sight of something and smiled. "Hey, JD! Over here!" He waved towards the young man. When JD only picked up his pace and fled around the corner, Rafael waved a hand in dismissal. "Don't know what his problem is, but he needs to get over it real quick."
"You seem to have a phantom problem." Faith stated as she didn't see this JD that Rafael mentioned.
"He's real," Casey almost whispered, "he just needs time." Continuing to watch the place where JD had disappeared until they passed the hall, she pushed the wheel chair forwards.

Fisting his hands in the sheets, Ezra cried out in to the bed. He rose off the bed cried out when Chris slammed inside him harder than before.
The vampire moved faster and harder, grunting as he did so.
Just as the friction drove him in to mindless, incoherent whimpering, Ezra felt the air pattern change in their bedroom. "Have I not instructed you to always keep your mouth shut unless you can say something intelligent?" Maude stalked in to the room, her hands wrapped around her white gloves and hand bag. Giving the clothes strewn room a critical glance, she sniffed in derision. "And this mess, how unlike you."
"Out." Chris growled.
"Why yes, you are quite that, aren't you. In this day and age, I suppose there is nothing terribly wrong with being 'out of the closet', but it is terrible for business." She turned her gaze to Chris and studied his back side with a passing interest. "Your choice of lovers is improving, I see."
Chris glared at hte woman who interrped them.
Head face down in the pillows, Ezra began to laugh. "As always, Mother, you have perfect timing."
The vampire looked from Maude to Ezra's back confused, but his lover's reaction. This wasn't a laughing matter it was a rude intrusion. He wanted to finishe no this joke.
Pushing the vampire off him, Ezra winced when he pulled out. "What is it this time, Mother?"
Chris cursed and got up, then walked into the bathroom.
Knocking a torn pair of silk boxers from a plush chair with her purse, Maude took a seat and crossed her ankles. Facing her son with an amused grin, she sat back. "Since the death of the Slayer and the absolishment of the contract, a review has been called. Before you and your partner are brought before a triumveret, we have somethings go over. Now I suggest you get ready, this is going to be a long day."
