Awoken by the conflict between werewolf and vampire, the devil was slowly regaining strength bfore the Trinity of ghost, werewolf and vampire tried to trap and kill him once more. A ritual was tried almost a century ago, and failed when Lord Harry selfishly sacrificed another in his place. You'd think a century later, he'd have learnt his lesson. But, once again, he'd made the same choice, and the devil put him, Tom and Alex into a dream before they could try again.
Eventually, they realised that things were wrong. That what they were experiencing was just a dream. And, the trinity awoke to a new world. A world ruled by the devil.
Rules had been rewritten, and the veil between worlds were thinning. The trio moved back to Bristol, trying to find a way to fix the mistake they made. Four years later, Annie Sawyer manage to push herself through the veil, after seeing what had become of the world, and her friends. Needing to help fix it. But, they soon discovered that people were crossing through from other realities. Realities that would usually be considered fictional. With no idea how to get them back, these refugees ended up with no choice but to become embroiled in the conflict around them. This is afterall, a war.
