You wake to find yourself alone, with a pounding headache and a horribly sore neck. A tannoy above your head announces:

"Welcome to the orb, you have been assigned to a living zone, your movements are now monitored and rules are mandatory... Do not attempt to resist."

You must now find a way to adapt to your new situation - to survive, thrive and, of course, the ultimate goal, escape back to your own reality.

‘Escape From the Orb’ is a panfandom game set in a enclosed complex made up of domed structures known as ‘orbs’.

It is a points based game to encourage participation all round.

Upon arrival, each character find themselves within an assigned room within one of the orbs. They have had a chip implanted at the base of their brains, at the top of their necks. This fact is unknown to the character until they are either told about it by someone else or find out about it the hard way.

Initially, only two orbs will be open to players and characters will be spread out evenly between the two. Once we reach a certain number of characters a third orb will open up.

Characters will only be aware of their orb and its occupants to begin with, this does include net posts.

So, if this type of game appeals to you then please read the relevant information and join us!

Life is the same as it always is. One day, you're in your office, doing your work. You're fighting demons, real or imagined. You're asleep in your bed. You're reheating leftovers. You're taking a shower. You're spying on someone. You're in the fight of your life. You're in the hospital. You're visiting a relative.

The wind picks up. A bright blue and white light crackles overhead. When you look up, all you see are galaxies as distinct and precise as if they were pictures taken with the Hubble telescope. They're so close you could touch them. Your curiosity gets the best of you, but when you reach out, the light engulfs you in pain. It gets hotter and hotter, the stars get closer. You have the distinct sensation that you're moving too fast to really feel it.

Just when you think you can't handle the pain anymore, it stops. The light dims, your ears pop, and you are in a large room. There are men surrounding you with guns. A women hovers in the corner. Maybe there are other disoriented people; maybe you're the only one they're focusing on.

Someone who identifies themselves as an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. steps forward and asks you to please follow them. On your way out of the room, you notice a glowing blue box in some sort of complicated machine, and it's being guarded by ridiculously big men and one woman in strange costumes. After a few minutes, a doctor sees you in a sterile, white room. You're asked for the medical history you know, your name, your age, and no matter what you tell them, a few taps on a keyboard tells them more about you than you are sure they have a right to know.

Just as you're about to get frustrated, the agent tells you that they have some paperwork for you for your new home, and an outreach program to help you get a job. Some people are asked if they would like to use their skills as a member of SHIELD. If there are others from your world here, they let you know.

Within a few hours (and a few doctor's pokes and prods), you are a member of a new world, with a new life, and sudden fame.

THE DOORWAY IS A PANFANDOM GAME SET IN THE MARVEL CINEMATIC UNIVERSE. WHILE OUR GAME CENTERS AROUND S.H.I.E.L.D. AND SUPERHERO PLOTS, THERE IS A LOT OF ROOM FOR THOSE INTERESTED IN SOCIAL PLOTTING. YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED TO BE INVOLVED IN THE OVERALL GAME PLOT IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO. WE ALLOW A LOT OF ROOM TO GROW AND PLOT.
