You're in bed, warm and comfortable under the covers. You yawn and stretch and try to come alive...maybe you turn over, and when you do, you realise you are not alone. Chances are you have never seen the person in the bed with you, but you realise pretty quickly that person is just as much a victim as you, and the two of you will have to figure out how to survive in this new world. Thankfully, even though you have woken up in the same bed, there is a second bedroom and you can each have your own living space. You are in a high rise apartment building. The apartment where you find yourself is fully furnished. There is a pair of smart phones on the bedside table, each bearing a name. Guard it with your life, it is a lifeline to others who have found themselves in apartments throughout the building. The view outside the picturesque windows reveals the bright lights of Los Angeles. Ah LA, a city full or broken dreams and impossible odds. Don't go walking out alone, you never know what you'll encounter, especially after dark.
