She regarded him for a moment longer, studying his face as if she could see the truth or the lie of his words written on it. "All right," she said quietly. Leaning in, she pressed her lips to his cheek, close to the corner of his mouth - unless he turned his head one way or the other to misplace her lips.
Squeezing his thigh lightly, she drew her hand away and glanced back toward the castle. They should, she reasoned, get back in soon - she, at least, had a class after lunch. But she wanted to try to end this meeting on a more upbeat note, so he'd be inclined to find her again.
So she gazed at him, a hint of a grin twitching the corners of her lips. She really did think about inviting him home with her over the holidays, but Merlin knew where things would be standing then. So she thought it best to wait for now.
