She forced herself to remain alert, to listen to him despite her wandering thoughts. It wouldn't do either of them any good if she got ahead of herself.
"I would be honoured," she murmured softly, "Anything for you, Lord. Should I bring Rodolphus or would you prefer that I come alone?"
She was hoping for the latter, but she could never hope to anticipate his decisions. And she would adhere to them with vigilance, not a single hair out of place in her endeavours, sparing no expense.
