His expression sobered, and Dedalus nodded knowingly.
"Indeed," he agreed, "I suppose with a family, you can't be too careful."
Though really, at this point they all needed to be. Ded was beginning to wonder if all the attacks were random or if there was some sort of pattern. He was half inclined to spread out a map and some pins and start labeling everything to see if there was one. By the time he'd finish, though, well ... the war would be over, maybe.
"Any news?" he asked, voice lowered, "I haven't caught wind of any stirrings on our end in a while. It makes me nervous, that does."
Were they just to stand by and do nothing while he slaughtered them like sheep?
