"I know," she said quietly. "I know, which is why I've come to the realization what we had before ... won't stand here. So we've simply got to find something different."
She took a step closer to him. He'd said she could trust him, and she knew she was gambling, really playing with fire at taking him at his word. But they had to start somewhere, right?
And they couldn't be friends without trust. So she simply had to ... trust him.
Because that was just as easily said as done.
"If we both want it, Sev, we'll figure out how to make it work. We'll find a way." Ideally, her way involved pulling him away from his Death Eater friends, but as optimistic as she was, she was also a realist.
That wouldn't happen. Not without some huge, life-altering event. And she simply didn't know how to provide that. She didn't even know if there was anything that could do it. That could make him just see what they were, why they were wrong.
