Severus had been deeply involved in homework most of the morning and had missed lunch. He had finished his assignments for the rest of the week though, and had managed to hit the Great Hall in time to pick up the fixings for a sandwich, along with an apple. Armed with this, and a book of Nietzsche to pass the time, he'd headed out towards the lawn, thinking to spend the rest of the day away from the confines of the dungeon and his housemates.
There was a nice niche in the courtyard he often retired to, where he could usually be assured of being alone. He was headed for it when he caught sight of someone sitting and enjoying the sun nearby. He scowled, and skulked towards the edges of the courtyard, hoping to gain his vantage point without her seeing him. Since their last encounter, he'd been trying to avoid her if at all possible. Certainly it was evident she wanted as little to do with him as she possibly could. He had already embarrassed himself enough.
