Remus blinked too. Oh. Sirius thought that Remus was going to ask about his family. Well, of course Remus was worried. But Sirius had not sounded very comfortable talking about it. And Remus did not want to pry. He would always be there if Sirius needed a listening ear. He hoped Sirius knew that.
Then Sirius turned on him again. Time to backtrack. And quickly. Before Sirius got any strange ideas. "I mean... never mind. Let's forget about that," Remus said hastily. "I'll thank you to stop teasing me too." He added as an afterthought.
Remus glanced at Sirius, and couldn't help wondering if the boy was really upset about his family. There was nothing Remus could do to help on that count. But if Sirius was upset, he wanted to cheer the other boy up. In such situations, well, chocolate was the answer.
Remus reached in his coat pocket and pulled out a bar of chocolate. He opened it and offered half to Sirius. "Want some?" he asked, grinning. Chocolate was Remus' answer to everything. Sirius and James often laughed at him for that.
